Stay safe
Most losses in crypto aren't hacks. They're people handing over a key or signing something they didn't read. Five rules cover nearly all of it.
1. Your key is your wallet
Your 1EDGE Wallet key and any seed phrase control your funds and your pass.
- Keep them in a password manager. Never in a screenshot, a note app or a chat.
- Never share them. 1EDGE will never ask for them: not support, not Edgar, not an admin, not a "validator".
- Export your key only into apps you trust. If it leaks, move your funds out right away.
2. Only sign what you started
The port-link scam. Someone DMs you a link: "claim your bonus", "verify your pass", "migrate now". It's a real 1edge.app/port page, but the ticket points at their account. Sign it and your pass goes to them.
The port page warns you every time: Only sign if you started this yourself, from your own 1EDGE Wallet, in the last 10 minutes. If someone sent you this link, close this page. It also names the account the pass goes to: Your pass goes to the 1EDGE account @… Is that you? If it isn't you, close it. See Bring your pass.
The same goes for any signature: read the wallet prompt. If you didn't start it, reject it.
3. Support doesn't DM you first
Real support is the @1EDGE thread in the app and Edgar on Telegram. 1EDGE doesn't send unprompted DMs asking you to fix, verify or claim anything. The @1EDGE account does send notices (like a moderation notice or a season recap); it never asks for a key, a payment or a signature. See Support.
4. Check you're in the right place
- The site is 1edge.app. Docs are docs.1edge.app. Bookmark them.
- The official account carries the Official 1EDGE account mark.
- Our socials are on Official links. Anything else is not us.
5. Check the coin, not the name
Tickers are cheap. Before you buy:
- Check the contract address on the coin's page, not in a chat.
- Read the marks: chain, mode, ring, rules. What the marks mean.
- Read What the trades show: did the creator sell? How many humans hold?
If something goes wrong
- Lost funds, a drain, a hack: message support right away. It goes straight to a person.
- A scam, a fake account, a drainer: report it from the ⋯ menu (Scam, phishing or a wallet drainer; Impersonating a person, project or 1EDGE). See Reporting.
- You signed a port link you didn't start: message support now.
